Umass Walk to Cure Cancer

Announcement from the Pat Inderwish, Central Mass Pop Warner President.
On Sunday, September 25th coaches, participants and team parents of Tantasqua Pop Warner will embark on a journey to Umass Medical center to participate in the Umass Walk to Cure Cancer. This is a truly special occasion for our program as this is the first year we will be able to participate as an entire program sending both football and cheer divisions. In past years our cheerleaders have enthusiastically attended this event and showed the spirit of green and gold as they supported the walkers. The strides Umass has been able to make in their search for a cure has been successful due to the efforts of this events fundraising efforts.
Cancer is a disease that has affected millions of families throughout the world. Most of us have also been personally effected by this disease. I ask each of you, if you do not have conflicting obligations, on this date to allow your child to participate in this event to put their feet down and take a step toward stomping out cancer forever.

Cancer Walk FAQ’s

  • What time does the event start?
  • A. Buses will pick up at the TRHS parking lot located on 148 across from Tantasqua Jr. High School at 7:30am, please be prompt in your arrival.

  • A. It’s not required, just strongly recommended. There will be no repercussions if a child is unable to attend this event.

  • Do we need volunteers?
  • A. Absolutely. If you’re interested in volunteering talk to your child’s head coach and see what assistance they need. Please note that only coaches, participants and team parents will be allowed on the buses. The reason for this is our insurance binder doesn’t cover volunteers at this time for transportation protection.

What I need from everyone is to contact the child’s head coach and let them know if they will be able to attend. Please do this immediately. I need the count as soon as possible. When contacting the coach please let them know the following:
