The Tantasqua Pop Warner Cheerleaders commitment to academic success is matched by their desire to give back to the community at large. Our 2010 teams participated in the 12th Annual UMass Walk to Cure Cancer and we're going to be there again this year! Equipment Care

Tantasqua Pop Warner strives to make sure that every player receives quality equipment. How you care for your uniform during the season is an important part of helping accomplish this goal. You can do your part by following these instructions when washing or cleaning your equipment:

Cheerleading Outfit and Warmups

1) A cold water detergent is recommended.
2) Uniforms should not be placed in the dryer. Please hang them up to dry.

What is cheerleading?

Cheerleading is an intergral part of the Tantasqua Pop Warner program. All members of our squads are taught tumbling, jumping, routines, and cheers to encourage and energize spectators and players at sporting events. It is also a team sport in which squads perform routines to music and are judged at competitions.

How can cheerleading help my child?

Is cheerleading a sport or an activity?

The question is still out as to whether cheer is a sport or an activity. Over the years Cheerleading has evolved from being an activity where members were selected based on beauty and popularity to one that requires athletic abilities and dedication. Often when joining a cheer squad, you have the option to join the spirit team and/or the competitive team.

Although cheerleading, especially at the high school and college level, is physically demanding and cheerleaders are trained athletes, their main function still remains supporting school athletic teams and each other competitions.
